Aisha is a Magandjin-based filmmaker motivated by her mixed Malay-Singaporean and white-Australian heritage.
Her work focuses on the lived experiences of people from immigrant and mixed backgrounds, investigating the intersection of personal identity and societal understanding and perception. She is passionate about authentic representation of the individual and the community, pointing a loving lens towards the nuanced and multi-layered reality of existing between multiple cultures.
Aisha made her writer-director debut with mother tongue; bahasa ibu in 2025 as an exploration of her Javanese roots. The film is preceded by its teaser film, Homecoming (2024).
Aisha has also worked across numerous projects as a producer and assistant director, including short films, music videos, multi-camera studio productions, and television commercials. Recent works include Rising Waters (2025) and The Promotion (2022). Aisha specialises in creating a positive and efficient on-set environment, and prides herself on highly-organised and worry-free pre-production.
She is also an experienced and reliable production assistant, having supported both short and feature films. Some of her recent work includes How to Move (2025) and Hafu (2024). Aisha has also enjoyed working in additional roles of Hair and Makeup and BTS Photographer.
